In 1999, Metallica released S&M, a live album which found the famed metal band playing alongside the San Francisco Symphony under the conduction of Michael Kamen. It was a performance for the ages, one which the band’s fans adored, so it was only a matter of time before we were gifted with a sequel.
Well, that time has come...or to be more precise, that time came back in September of last year, when Metallica performed two shows at Chase Center in San Francisco, and after that, the best of those two performances were compiled into a concert film that made its way into theaters the following month.
On August 28, however, S&M 2 comes home at last, and it’s been newly re-edited, remixed, and remastered, thereby providing fans with a whole new experience even if they did see it in the theater.
