Now Streaming: 5 from The Replacements’ LIVE AT MAXWELL’S

In February 1986 at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey, The Replacements famously – some would say infamously – turned in a performance for the ages. Over the course of 29 songs, the band mixed up album tracks, singles, B-sides, and covers from all stages of their career up to that point, and a 24-track mobile studio was there to record the proceedings. Up to this point, the only version of that show to emerge has been a low-quality bootleg, but that’s about to change: on October 6, FOR SALE: LIVE AT MAXWELL’S 1986 will finally hit record store shelves officially.

Now that we’ve hyped it so tremendously, you’re probably a little annoyed that you’ve still got to wait until October 6 to pick up a copy. We get that. Fortunately for you, we’ve released five of those 29 tracks as exclusive streams to various sites around the ‘net, and we’ve even rounded up the links to save you from having to desperately search for them.

Day 1: "I’m In Trouble" (CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND) –  Listen here

You’re psyched, right? As well you should be. Beyond these tracks, we can also offer you a Replacements playlist to keep you entertained ‘til October 6, but trust us when we tell you that, if you’re a hardcore ‘Mats, FOR SALE: LIVE AT MAXWELL’S 1986 will be well worth the wait.
