Aretha Franklin, THIS CHRISTMAS

You may recall last month how we mentioned that Aretha Franklin’s 2008 album holiday album THIS CHRISTMAS would be getting its first-ever reissue on vinyl, but if you don’t recall that, well, it did, and it’s been out there since November 16, so we’re a little disappointed at the way you’ve let the moss grow under your feet. But, hey, it’s the holiday season, so we’ll let it slide.

That said, we did want to draw your attention to something from the late, great Queen of Soul that dropped only a few days ago: the lyric video for her stirring rendition of the Christmas classic, “Silent Night.”

In addition to the aforementioned vinyl release, we’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention at this point that you can secure a digital copy of the new solo piano mix of Franklin’s “Silent Night” by visiting the online music retailer of your choice.

Lastly, it might not be Christmas music, but since it’s all Aretha, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention this as well: as of tomorrow, you can pick up a copy of ATLANTIC RECORDS ‘60S COLLECTION, which includes the five studio albums that Aretha released between 1967 and 1969: I NEVER LOVED A MAN THE WAY I LOVE YOU (Mono), ARETHA ARRIVES (Mono), LADY SOUL (Stereo), ARETHA NOW (Stereo), and SOUL ‘69 (Stereo).

Everything’s coming up Aretha!
