Carly Simon, SONGS FROMTHE TREES

Today we celebrate the birthday of Carly Simon, who kicked off her career with a self-titled album in early 1971, scored a top-10 hit right out the gate (“That’s The Way I’ve Always Heard It Should Be”),  and has continued to write, record, and release new music ever since. She’s had plenty of top-40 hits along the way, but there are a number of singles that made it into the Hot 100 without getting the sort of significant airplay that going top-40 provides. As such, we’ve put together a six-pack of performances and/or videos for songs that landed between #41 and #100, and if you think any of them deserved to fly higher on the chart, let us know!

1.    “Legend in Your Own Time” (ANTICIPATION, 1971)

2.     “Vengeance” (SPY, 1979)

3.    “Why” (SOUP FOR ONE, 1982)

4.    “You Know What To Do” (HELLO BIG MAN, 1983)

5.    “Tired of Being Blonde” (SPOILED GIRL, 1985)

6.    “Give Me All Night” (COMING AROUND AGAIN, 1987)
